Don’t let the name fool you. Badlands National Park hidden gem offers some of the most magnificent scenery in the US. Its beauty may not appeal to everyone, but jagged layers of rock towering over fields of prairie grasses create surprisingly beautiful views.

Water and wind have been creating this masterpiece for the past half million years, forming pinnacles, jagged ridges, towers and buttes, all of which can be appreciate dup close through numerous hiking and biking trails. Badlands is also home to the world’s richest Oligocene fossil beds, over 23 million years old.
