The Top Choices Feature the Home of a Pulitzer Prize-Winning Author, a Resort Lodge, and an Annual Sled Dog Race.

Punderson State Park

Lying in the heart of Ohio’s snow belt, Punderson State Park delivers cold weather thrills on cross-country ski trails, snowmobile trails and a lighted sled hill. The park also offers good icefishing on Punderson Lake, one of the largest natural inland lakes in Ohio. The park hosts a classic sled dog race each January, weather permitting. The tudor-style Punderson Manor House offers resort accommodations, fine dining, and an indoor pool in a picturesque natural setting.

Malabar Farm State Park

At Malabar Farm you can tour the home and working farm of Pulitzer Prize-winning author and conservationist Louis Bromfield. Tours of the mansion, preserved just as Bromfield left it in 1956, are offered year-round. Sledding, ice skating and cross-country skiing are also available at Malabar Farm State Park. Cross country ski rental is available at the Big House Gift Shop.

Mohican State Park

At Mohican State Park, located next to Malabar, you can enjoy a cozy cottage or resort lodge room, as well as fine dining and an indoor pool. Downhill skiing is offered near the park at Clear Fork and Snow Trails ski resorts.
