The Top Choices Offer Bird Watching, Wildlife Viewing, and Year-Round Camping.

Cape Henlopen State Park

The Atlantic Ocean beaches of this park bring a host of wildlife viewing opportunities in the winter. Although sunbathing is out, visitors find plenty to occupy them with ample hiking opportunities, year-round nature programs, sport fishing, and bundled up beach walking.

Brandywine Creek State Park

This 1000-acre park include the state's first two nature preserves. It is a wonderful place to bring the family for a fun-filled day sledding down the rolling hills of the Brandywine River Valley. Winter hiking, birdwatching and year-round nature programs welcome visitors during the chilly months.

Killens Pond State Park

The only park with year round camping also includes heated, modern cabins year round, which sit right along the pond for a lovely winter view. This time of year, the park is very quite making it ideal for a slow-paced get-away weekend.
