Acadia National Park hosts more than two million visitors each year, but is relatively small for a national park (47,390 acres). The most popular section of the park is encircled by Park Loop Road, a 20-mile, two lane route that winds through the eastern section of Mount Desert Island. The road offers spectacular views of Frenchman Bay, mountains and forests, and includes a 3.5-mile road up Cadillac Mountain.
