In 2003, after nearly a century of neglect and deterioration, the Gettysburg Cyclorama painting became part of a five-year conservation effort to return the work of art to its original glory. It is now hanging in a gallery in the park's new Museum and Visitor Center where it will premiere to the public on September 26, 2008 as part of the Grand Opening celebration.
