Darren Smith

Darren Smith is an writer, editor, and avid traveler, with particular interest in United States and Canadian national parks. He has edited and published travel directories, written a number feature magazine stories, and has been the About.com Guide to National Parks for more than 10 years.

Mr. Smith is the author of five editions of Parks Directory of the United States, a guide to more than 5,000 national and state parks, which was selected as winner of "Best Field-Tested Reference Material" by Wilson Library Bulletin and more recently selected as Reviewers Choice by Internet Bookwatch (2007). Mr. Smith is also the co-author of The Traveler's Sourcebook.
