Obtaining Publications from the National Park Service

The National Park Service and several of its partner organizations offer a wide variety of publications to enhance the understanding, appreciation, and knowledge of our National Parks through the Park Store and Electronic Bookstore (operated by Eastern National). The NPS Division of Publications maintains a catalog of its official handbooks, booklets, brochures, posters and charts, and cartographic resources. NPS offers a number of specialized publications, which include Administrative Histories of Federal Parks, a list of reports, articles, and books that examine the history of federal parks and the National Park Service; and Underwater Wonders of the National Parks, a 342-page guide intended to introduce the underwater realm of the national parks that include two million acres of submerged lands, outside of Alaska. Another publication devoted to the national parks includes includes the National Parks and Conservation Association magazine.

Park Merchandise
The National Park Service provides opportunities for the public to purchase national and state park merchandise, everything from educational material like books and magazines, to collectibles. In many cases purchase helps to support parks. The National Park Foundation works with some manufacturers to help generate funds for more than 370 national parks, with a portion of the proceeds from the sales of products donated to protect land, repair monuments, control outside environmental influences on park land, promote educational and community outreach programs, improve visitor services and support National Park Service employee professional development and training.
