Everglades National Park

A year-round resident of the Everglades, the barred owl is light grayish brown in coloration with a rounded face and no ear tufts. It derives its name from the barring or banding of alternating colors over most of the bird's body. Its range of habitat include woodland swamps, dense forests, lakeshores, and river bottomlands.
