Size: 14 sq. km. 

Location: Georgian Bay Islands National Park is located 2 hours north of Toronto. Take Highway 400 north from Toronto to Muskoka Road 5 (Exit 156), then turn left on Muskoka Road 5 to Honey Harbour. Access is by boat only. Privately owned water taxis operate out of Honey Harbour. 

Description: Located in the transition zone between the northern Canadian Shield and the hardwood forests of the southern Great Lakes, the park's islands are home to both northern and southern species of plants and animals, and include the greatest diversity of reptiles and amphibians found in any Canadian national park.

Activities: Boating, sailing, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, camping, wildlife viewing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and interpretive programs.     

Where to Stay: Beausoleil, the park's largest island, includes 11 campgrounds, featuring an 87-site campground at Cedar Spring. A number of the park's campgrounds can be reserved from May to September by calling 705-756-5909.

Operating Hours
: Georgian Bay Islands
National Park is open year round and is accessible by boat only. Services run from mid-May to Thanksgiving.

History
: Established in 1929.
