Size: 2,037 acres

Location: War in the Pacific National Historical Park is located on the island of Guam in the North Pacific. Park includes several units on the west-central part of the island near the villages of Asan, Piti, and Agat.

Description: The 1944 recapture of Guam by American forces during World War II is interpreted at seven units on this island, from the summit of Mount Tenjo (1,033 ft.) to the submerged war relics on the offshore coral reefs (132 ft. deep). This is the only site in the National Park System that honors the bravery and sacrifices of all those who participated in the Pacific Theater of World War II, including the United States, Japan, and the Allied nations: Australia, Canada, China, France, Great Britain, New Zealand, The Netherlands, and the Soviet Union.

Activities: Hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, kayaking, fishing, guided tour.

Operating Hours: Apaca Point, Ga'an Point, Piti Guns, and Asan Bay Overlook are open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Asan Beach is limited to walk-in visits.

History: Authorized on August 18, 1978.
