Size: 88.5 acres

Location: Theodore Roosevelt Island Park is located in the Potomac River, accessible from the northbound lane of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. 

Description: On this wooded island sanctuary, 2.5 miles of trails lead to an imposing statue of Roosevelt, the conservation-minded 26th President. His tenets on nature, manhood, youth, and the state are inscribed on tablets.

Operating Hours: Open year round except for holidays.

History: Authorized on May 21, 1932; transferred from Office of Public Buildings and Public Parks of the National Capital on August 10, 1933. Memorial dedicated on October 27, 1967.
