Location: Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is located on East 20th St. in Manhattan, New York.
Description: The 26th President was born in a brownstone house here on October 27, 1858. Demolished in 1916, it was reconstructed and rededicated in 1923 and furnished by the President's widow and sisters. Approximately forty percent of the furnishings come from the original house.
Activities: Guided tours.Operating Hours: The site is open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from Tuesday through Saturday. The House is closed on all Federal holidays.
History: Authorized on July 25, 1962.
