Size: 250 acres

Location: Timpanogos Cave National Monument is located in north-central Utah, within 10 miles of Lehi, American Fork, and Pleasant Grove. UT 92 runs east-west through the monument. 

Description: Three moderate-sized limestone caves sit high on the rocky slopes of American Fork Canyon in the shadow of Mount Timpanogos. They are decorated with a dazzling display of helictites, stalactites, stalagmites, and other unusual formations. Caves are generally open from mid-May through early October.

Activities: National park rangers guide visitors on hour-long, interpretative tours through the caves on a seasonal basis. Other recreational activities in the area include backpacking, hiking, fishing, camping, scenic drives, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, rock climbing, and horseback riding.

History: Proclaimed on October 14, 1922; transferred from Forest Service on August 10, 1933.
