Size: 75 acres

Location: San Juan National Historic Site is located in the city of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

Description: Park includes the forts of El Morro, San Cristóbal, and El Cañuelo, and the city walls. These massive masonry fortifications, oldest in the territorial limits of the United States, were begun by the Spaniards in the 16th century to protect a strategic harbor guarding the sea lanes to the New World.

Activities: Visitor activities include guided tours. 

History: Designated a National Historic Site on February 14, 1949. Designated a World Heritage Site on December 9, 1983.
