Size: 160 acres

Location: Rainbow Bridge National Monument is located in southern Utah and is accessible only by boat or by a 13-mile hike (with permit from the Navajo Nation). By boat across Lake Powell, it is 50 miles (4.5 hours round-trip) from Wahweap, Bullfrog, or Halls Crossing to Rainbow Bridge. The two trails leading to the park originate near Navajo Mountain.

Description: Largest of the world's known natural bridges, this symmetrical, salmon-pink sandstone span rises 290 feet above the floor of Bridge Canyon.

Activities: Visitors can take the trail from the courtesy dock to the viewing area for the bridge or backpack to Rainbow Bridge on the Navajo Mountain trail with the appropriate permit available from the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, AZ. Rainbow Bridge is immediately adjacent to Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, which offers a variety of water-based recreational activities.

Operating Hours: A ranger station at Dangling Rope Marina, the closest source of supplies, is open irregularly throughout the year. Rangers are at Rainbow Bridge daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and less frequently throughout the rest of the year.
