Size: 40 acres

Location: Pipe Spring National Monument is located 14 miles southwest of Fredonia, Arizona, accessible from US 89A via AZ 389. 

Description: The springs at this location have sustained hundreds of years of cultural occupation in this dry, desert region. The Ancestral Puebloan culture thrived here, followed by the Kaibab Paiute and Mormon pioneers. Historic structures associated with the 1870s pioneer ranching operation remain.

Activities: Pipe Spring features three historic buildings, which are are open to the public year round. Winsor Castle (the Fort) is accessible only by ranger guided tours (offered every 30 minutes). The East and West Cabins are available for self-guided visits. The Monument grounds include a garden, orchard, corrals (complete with longhorn cattle and horses), other farm livestock, and a half-mile trail offering impressive views of the Arizona Strip. During the summer months ranger guided walks, talks, and demonstrations of pioneer and Indian crafts and lifeways are offered on a daily basis. 

Operating Hours: During the summer months (June through August) the Monument grounds and Visitor Center/Museum are open from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Tours of Winsor Castle are offered from 8:00am to 4:30pm. During the winter months (September through May) the Monument grounds and Visitor Center/Museum are open from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Tours of Winsor Castle are offered from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The Monument is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
