Size: 848 acres. 

Location: Pennsylvania Avenue National Historic Site includes a portion of Pennsylvania Avenue and the area adjacent to it between the Capitol and the White House in Washington, DC.

Description: Encompasses Ford's Theatre National Historic Site, several blocks of the Washington commercial district, the Old Post Office Tower, and a number of federal structures.

Activities: Tourmobile sightseeing and walking. 

History: Avenue was part of Pierre-Charles L'Enfant's 1791 plan for the city of Washington DC. It was designated a national historic site on September 30, 1965 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 15, 1966.
