Size: 702 acres.  

Location: Oregon Caves National Monument is located 20 miles southeast of Cave Junction, Oregon, on OR 46. Park is 50 miles south of Grants Pass, Oregon, and 76 miles northeast of Crescent City, California, via US 199. 

Description: Groundwater dissolving marble bedrock formed these cave passages and intricate flowstone formations. Above ground, the monument encompasses a remnant old-growth coniferous forest. It harbors a remarkable array of plants and a Douglas-fir tree with the widest known girth in Oregon.

Activities: Visitor activities include cave tours (from spring through fall), hiking, and ranger-led programs (offered during the summer months). 

History:
Proclaimed on July 12, 1909; transferred from Forest Service on August 10, 1933.
