Size: 702 acres.  

Location: Ocmulgee National Monument is located in on the east side of Macon, Georgia, on US 80 east (Emery Highway). Main access is from I-75 to I-16 east, at the north end of Macon, and then the second exit from I-16 (Coliseum Exit). 

Description: Traces of 12,000 years of Southeastern culture from Ice Age Indians to the historic Creek Confederacy are preserved here, including the massive temple mounds of a Mississippian Indian ceremonial complex that thrived between AD 900 and 1100 and many artifacts.

Activities: Park offers ranger-led walks, exhibits, and an introductory movie at the Museum. Special activities include the Lantern Light Tours in March and the Ocmulgee Indian Celebration in September.

Operating Hours: The park is open daily, from 9:00am to 5:00pm; closed on Christmas and New Years Day.
