Size: 2,495 acres. 

Location: Nez Perce National Historical Park includes 38 sites located in north-central Washington, northeast Oregon, north-central Idaho, and western Montana. Headquarters is located in Spalding, Idaho, 11 miles east of Lewiston.

Description: The history and culture of the Nez Perce Indian country are preserved, commemorated, and interpreted here. Of the original 24 sites, 4 are administered by the National Park Service and 20 through cooperative agreements. Of the 14 additional sites added in 1992, only the Big Hole National Battlefield is managed by the National park Service. Agreements with the property owners are being worked out to provide for public access to each area.

Activities: The museums at Park Headquarters in Spalding, Idaho and Big Hole National Battlefield in Wisdom, Montana offer visitors the opportunity to view exhibits, take ranger-led tours, and see movies on Nez Perce history and culture. Both places have walking trails and picnic facilities. There are numerous recreational opportunities  in the national forests that are within driving distance of most park sites. The Nez Perce National Historic Trail and a section of the Lewis and Clark Trail are part of the Park. 

Operating Hours: The Visitor Center at Spalding, Idaho, is open year round. During the winter months, hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm and from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 8:00 am to 5:00pm. The Visitor Center at Big Hole National Battlefield in Wisdom, Montana is open all year. From Memorial Day to mid-September, the park is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm; during the winter months from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Bear Paw Battlefield is open year round from dawn to dusk. The Blaine County Museum in Chinook has exhibits and an audiovisual program on the battle at Bear Paw. In the summer the museum is open daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm. For the remainder of the year, it is open on weekdays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm; closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's days
