Size: 51,984 acres. 

Location: Natchez Trace Parkway is located between Nashville, Tennessee, and Natchez, Mississippi. Of the estimated 443 miles, 423 are completed as a parkway. 

Description: This historic route generally follows the old Indian trace or trail between Nashville, Tennessee, and Natchez, Mississippi. It encompasses portions of Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi.

Activities: An orientation video, exhibits, ranger programs and demonstrations are available upon request at the visitor center near Tupelo, MS. Visitors can enjoy a number of activities near the parkway include camping, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, swimming, boating, and fishing. Seasonal festivals are held at the Meriwether Lewis Monument, Mississippi Craft Center and the Mount Locust historic stand. 

Operating Hours: The Natchez Trace Parkway is open all year, with occasional closings due to weather. The visitor center is located at milepost 266, near Tupelo, Mississippi and is open every day from 8am to 5pm, central time, except for Christmas Day.

History
:
Emergency Appropriation Act of June 19, 1934, allocated initial construction funds; established as parkway under National Park Service by act of May 18, 1938. Ackia Battleground (now called Chickasaw Village) and Meriwether Lewis Park were added to the Natchez Trace Parkway by Act of August 10, 1961.
