Size: 971 acres.
Location: Minute Man National Historical Park is located between Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, off I-95 (Exit 30B). Park visitor center is located on Route 2A west, 1 mile west of I-95.
Description: Scene of the fighting on April 19, 1775, that opened the American Revolution, the park includes North Bridge, the Minute Man statue by Daniel Chester French, a number of Colonial houses, and 4 miles of Battle Road between Lexington and Concord. The park also includes "The Wayside," home of authors Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Margaret Sidney.

After leaving the visitor center, explore the Battle Road Trail.
This five mile trail connects historic sites from Meriams Corner in Concord to the eastern boundary of the park in Lexington. The main theme of the trail is the Battle of April 19, 1775, that launched the American Revolution.
Ranger-guided programs are offered seasonally.

Hours:
The grounds of Minute Man National Historical Park are open sunrise to sunset. Parking lot gate close promptly at sunset. The North Bridge Visitor Center is open year round except Thanksgiving, Dec. 24, Christmas (Dec. 25), Sunday, Dec. 26 and New Year's Day.
The Minute Man Visitor Center is open daily, 9am to 5pm, from mid-April through
late October; closed from November through late March. The North Bridge Visitor
Center is open year round, with varying hours of operation. Contact the park
headquarters at 978-369-6993 for further details on hours of operation.
History: Designated a national historic site on April 14, 1959; redesignated on September 21, 1959.
