Size: 15 acres. 

Location: Minuteman Missile National Historic Site is located along I-90 in southwestern South Dakota, near Badlands National Park and the town of Wall. 

Description: Park interprets how the Minuteman missile played a strategic role in the country's defense during the Cold War. It features the Delta 1 launch control and Delta 9 launch facilities that are the sole remaining examples of the original Minuteman system, dating back to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Activities: Visitors can take a ranger-guided tour through the topside structure at Delta-01, a former launch control facility that housed missile crews from the 44th Missile Wing at Ellsworth AFB. The tour also includes the underground launch control center at Delta-01 and the launch facility known as Delta-09. Tours are approximately two hours in length and are limited to six people per tour. History:
Established on December 2, 1999. Delta 9 missile site transferred from the Air Force to the National Park System on September 27, 2002. The National Historic Site will be administered with Badlands National Park.
