Size: 5,073 acres. 

Location: Manassas National Battlefield Park is located just north of Manassas and I-66, 25 miles west of Washington, DC.

Description: The Battles of First and Second Manassas were fought here on July 21, 1861, and August 28-30, 1862. The 1861 battle was the first test of Northern and Southern military prowess. Here, Confederate Brigadier General Thomas J. Jackson acquired his nickname "Stonewall."

Activities: Begin your visit to the park at the Henry Hill Visitor Center, where you can visit the museum or watch the film Manassas: End of Innocence. From there, you can join a ranger on an interpretive tour about the First Battle of Manassas. There is a one-mile, self-guided walking tour for the First Battle of Manassas starting at the visitor center. There is also a 13-mile, self-guided driving tour of the Second Battle of Manassas, with stops at various locations throughout the park.

Operating Hours: The park is open during daylight hours every day. The visitor center is open daily from 8:30am to 5:00pm, except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
