Lincoln Home National Historic Site
Contact Information: Size: 12 acres. Location: Lincoln Home National Historic Site is located in Springfield, Illinois. Visitor center is located at 426 South Seventh St. Description: Abraham and Mary Lincoln resided in this house for 17 years (1844-1861) before he became President. The house was originally constructed in 1839 as a one-story cottage, but was later expanded by the Lincoln's into a full two-story house. The surrounding four-block historic neighborhood is being restored to capture the atmosphere the Lincolns knew.

Hours:
The Lincoln Home Visitor Center is open from 8:30am to 5pm daily except
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
