Size: 3,945 acres. 

Location: Kings Mountain National Military Park is located on SC 216 in Blacksburg, South Carolina, just south of the North and South Carolina border. The park is 60 miles north of Greenville, SC and 39 miles south of Charlotte, NC. From I-85, take NC Exit 2 south onto SC 216. 

Description: American frontiersmen defeated the British here on October 7, 1780, at a critical point during the Revolution.

Activities: A good place to begin your trip is at the park's visitor center, which features a 27-minute film on the Battle of Kings Mountain and includes museum exhibits. The park includes a 1.5-mile self-guiding loop trail around the battlefield site. 
Kings Mountain National Military Park and the adjoining Kings Mountain State Park have combined efforts to offer 16 miles of hiking trails and more than 16 miles of horse trails.

Operating Hours: Daily, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Weekends, 9:00am to 6:00pm (Memorial Day to Labor Day). Closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day

History
: Established on March 3, 1931; transferred from War Department on August 10, 1933.
