Size: 1,176 acres.
Location: Greenbelt Park is in Greenbelt, Maryland, 12 miles from downtown Washington, DC, and 23 miles from Baltimore. The Baltimore-Washington Parkway passes through the park.
Description: This woodland park offers urban dwellers access to many forms of outdoor recreation.
Activities: Camping (year-round), hiking (park includes nine miles of trails), bicycling, horseback riding, guided programs.
Operating
Hours: The Park Headquarters is open Monday - Friday 8 -4. The Park Ranger
Station near the campground is open 8:00am - 3:45pm seven days a week.
History:
Transferred from Public Housing Authority on August 3, 1950.
