Size: 1,618 acres

Location: Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site is located at the north end of the town of Deer Lodge, Montana, off I-90. Deer Lodge is 40 miles north of Butte and 80 miles southeast of Missoula. 

Description: This is the headquarters of a once wide-ranging 19th-century cattle empire. The site preserves 90 structures associated with its operation, representing more than 125 years of ranching heritage. It is still a working cattle ranch.

Activities: Visitors can explore the ranch and take part in special programs throughout the year, including Western Heritage Days, haying demonstrations, and more. 

Operating Hours: Daily, summer: 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Daily, rest of year: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years holidays.

History: Authorized on August 25, 1972.
