Location: The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial is located in West Potomac Park, between the Tidal Basin and the Potomac River, near the National Mall in Washington, DC. 

Description: Twelve years of American history are traced through a sequence of four outdoor rooms, each devoted to one of FDR's four terms in office. Sculpture inspired by photographs depict the 32nd President: A 10-foot statue shows him in a wheeled chair; a bas-relief depicts him riding in a car during his first inaugural. 

Activities: There are many nearby places for visitor and family activities. Around the Tidal Basin, there are paddle boats that can be rented an hour at a time. The pavilion closes at dusk. 

Operating Hours: The main part of the memorial remains open 24 hours a day. The interpretive ranger staff are on site from 8am to 11:45pm daily except Christmas Day. The Bookstore opens from 8 am to 5 pm. 

History: Authorized as a park on September 5, 1959; dedicated on May 2, 1997.
