Size: 444 acres
Location: Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site is located 25 miles southwest of Williston, North Dakota, and 24 miles north of Sidney, Montana.
Description: The principal fur-trading post of the American Fur Company in the Upper Missouri River region from 1829 to 1867, Fort Union served the Assiniboine, Crow, Cree, Ojibway, and Blackfeet tribes. Park encompasses portions of North Dakota and Montana.
Activities: Visitors can learn about the coexistence and interaction of two different cultures while walking through the reconstructed trading post and discover the customs of commercial and cultural exchange in the Indian Trade House (Summer only). The exhibits in the Visitor Center tell of the history, culture and archaeology of Fort Union Trading Post. Summer weekends feature a blacksmith working iron on most Saturdays and sometimes include a black powder firearms demonstration.

Hours: Summer Hours: 8 am to 8 pm Daily Memorial Day to Labor Day. Winter
Hours: 9 am to 5:30 pm Labor Day to Memorial Day. Fort Union Trading Post is
located in two time zones, but uses central time.
