Size: 13 acres
Location: The Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site is near Danville, California. From San Francisco/Oakland area take I-80 to CA 24, then south on I-680 to Danville; from San Jose take I-680 north to Danville.
Description: Tao House was built for Eugene O'Neill, who lived here from 1937 to 1944. Several of his best known plays, including "The Iceman Cometh" and "Long Day's Journey Into Night" were written here. The site is preserved as a memorial to the playwright.

Hours: Public visitation by reservation Wednesday - Sunday, 10:00 a.m. and
12:30 p.m. all year. Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
History: Authorized on October 12, 1976.
