Location: Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site is located on North 7th Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Description: The life and work of this gifted American author are portrayed in this three-building complex where Poe lived from 1843 to 1844. Of his several Philadelphia homes, only this one survives.
Activities: Audiovisual presentations and ranger-guided tours are available throughout the year. House tours are limited to groups of no more than 25; groups are encouraged to make reservations. Educational programs for schools are given throughout the school year; reservations are required. Other activities include several annual special events and a Junior Ranger program.Operating
Hours: Open Wednesday to Sunday 9 am to 5 pm; closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Closed New Years', Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
History: Authorized on November 10, 1978; established on August 14, 1980.
