Size: 55 acres

Location: In south-central El Paso, Texas, just north of the Rio Grande and adjacent to the international boundary. Access is via San Marcial Street or Delta Drive. 

Description: The peaceful settlement of a 99-year boundary dispute between the United States and Mexico is memorialized here. The Chamizal Treaty, ending the dispute, was signed in 1963. An amphitheater and 500-seat auditorium are used by the theatrical groups from both sides.

Activities: The Cordova Island Trail is a 1.8-mile walking trail that encircles the 55-acre urban park. Views of the Franklin and Juarez Mountains, the El Paso downtown skyline and an international bridge can be seen from the trail.

Operating Hours: Visitor Center Open Daily, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Grounds open 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; The Memorial is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

History:
Authorized on June 30, 1966; established on February 4, 1974.
