In the summer of 1848, 300 women and 40 men met in Seneca Falls to discuss the status of women and to call for action and change. At the conclusion, 68 women and 32 men signed the Declaration of Sentiments drafted by Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
Visiting the Park
To obtain a schedule of events and activities, stop at the Park Visitor Center at 136 Fall Street. Activities include ranger-guided tours of the Wesleyan Chapel, Declaration Park, the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House, the Suffrage Print Shop and historic district walking tours. Wesleyan Chapel tours and Elizabeth Cady Stanton House tours are offered year round; others are offered only during the summer months. For further information, call 315-568-0024.
Attractions that are located within a mile of the park include the National Women's Hall of Fame, the Seneca Falls Heritage Area and the Seneca Falls Historical Society.
