Red Hill, the last home and burial place of Patrick Henry, is authorized by Act of Congress as the Patrick Henry National Memorial.

The original Virginia plantation consisted of 2,920 acres, a frame home, and several dependencies, including an overseer's cottage which Henry used as his law office.

Recognized as "the voice of the Revolution" and a champion of individual rights, Patrick Henry was also Virginia's first governor after the Commonwealth declared independence from Great Britain.
