Congress establishes Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, the nation's first waterfowl sanctuary. Located 15 miles southwest of Brigham City, Utah, this federally-managed area features 74,000 acres of marshes, mud flats, uplands and open water and is Utah's largest intact wetlands complex.
