Hot Springs Reservation in Arkansas is set aside by the Federal Government on four square miles of land to protect the 47 hot springs flowing from Hot Springs Mountain. In 1921 the area would be redesignated as a national park. More than a million gallons of water a day, with an average temperature of 143°F (62°C), flow from 47 springs.
