Scuba Diving and Snorkeling at National and State Parks

The following national and state parks offer opportunities for snorkeling and/or scuba diving. The list was compiled through independent research, as well as information obtained from the National Park Service and state park agencies. Abandoned Shipwreck Act
This 1988 law asserts title to three categories of abandoned shipwrecks in state submerged lands and directs the National Park Service to assist the states and federal agencies in developing related legislation and regulations.

National Park Service Submerged Cultural Resources Unit
Established in 1980, NPS-SCRU is responsible for inventory, mapping, and assessment of underwater cultural resources in the U.S. National Park system, as well as the development of plans for management, preservation, and recreational use.
