Zion National Park

Camping:

The National Park Service operates three campgrounds at Zion National Park. The South Campground, located near the south entrance to the park (0.5 miles from Springdale), is open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on this campground call 435-772-3256. Watchman Campground, located just south of the Zion Canyon Visitor Center (0.4 miles from Springdale), is open from April through October. Sites at this campground can be reserved online or by calling 1-800-365-2267. Both campgrounds charge fees; both have fire grates, picnic tables, water, restrooms, and sanitary disposal stations for trailers.

The Lava Point Primitive Campground is usually open from May to October. Fire grates, tables, and toilets are provided, but there is no water. No fee is charged. For more information on this campground call 435-772-3256.

Campsites for groups of 9-40 people are available by reservation. Camping at Zion is limited to 14 days and is permitted only in designated areas or in the backcountry.

A private campground in Springdale has full utility hookups and hot showers. Other campgrounds are located within 25 miles of the park.
