Welcome to the Wind Cave National Park Travel Planner. Here you'll find everything you need to plan your Wind Cave vacation, including directions, maps, photos, lodging, camping, things to do, weather, and more. Located near Hot Springs, South Dakota, the 28,295-acre park draws more than 640,000 visitors per year. It features one of the world's longest and most complex caves, with an outstanding display of boxwork, an unusual cave formation composed of thin calcite fins resembling honeycombs. The park also includes one of the few remaining mixed-grass prairies, home to native wildlife such as bison, elk, pronghorn, mule deer, coyotes, and prairie dogs. I hope you'll enjoy a visit to the park in the near future.
