Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont
Established in 1969, it offers residential environmental education programs and camps. Includes school programs, summer camps, and adult education programs covering everything from wildlife to wild flowers, from Appalachian storytelling to environmental ethics.Parks as Classrooms Program
Environmental education programs available to area schools in North Carolina and Tennessee. The k-8 programs use park rangers as primary instructors with assistance from teachers.Smoky Mountain Field School
Concerned with educating public audiences about the park's natural and cultural resources through a variety of activities, including hikes, slide shows on flora and fauna, workshops, mountain music, living history, and wildlife demonstrations.
