National park of American Samoa

Weather:

Samoa's weather can basically be divided into two seasons. October through May is the eight-month hot and wet summer. Rainfall at the Tafuna airport weather station is about 11-14 inches per month and air temperature (averaged over a 24-hour period) is about 82-83o F (for the period 1990-2002). From June through September, average rainfall is reduced by half, and the average air temperatures are 81o F.

Rainfall levels vary considerably from month to month and place to place. The harbor area is very wet, receiving 200 inches of rainfall per year. Some mountain areas may get up to 300 inches  per year, while the afuna plains are much drier, receiving "only" 125 inches per year.
