Redwood National and State Parks

Camping:

Redwood National and State Parks includes four developed campgrounds and one overnight use area. No trailer hook-ups are available at any RNSP campground. Reservations, which are usually necessary during the summer, may be made up to six months in advance by calling 1-800-444-7275. For international calls, use (916) 638-5883. 

Jedediah Smith Campground is located along Highway 199 in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. 106 RV or tent sites are available in an old-growth redwood forest. Length limit on RVs is 36 feet (12 m), 31 feet (10 m) for trailers. Facilities include restrooms, showers, dump station, bearproof lockers, and fire pits. 

Mill Creek Campground (
summer only) is located six miles south of Crescent City off Highway 101 in Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. 145 RV or tent sites are available in a second-growth redwood forest. Length limit on RVs is 31 feet (10 m), 27 feet (9 m) for trailers. Facilities include restrooms, showers, dump station, bearproof lockers, and fire pits. 

Elk Prairie Campground
is located off Highway 101 and on Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. 75 RV or tent sites are available next to a prairie and an old-growth redwood forest. Length limit on RVs is 27 feet (9 m), 24 feet (8 m) for trailers. Facilities include restrooms, showers, dump station, bearproof lockers, and fire pits. 

Gold Bluffs Beach Campground is located in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park at the end of Davison Road (off Highway 101). 25 RV sites are available on the beach, however RVs must be less than 24 feet ( 8 m) long and no more than eight feet (2-½ m) wide. 29 tent sites are available on the beach. No reservations are accepted; spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Facilities include restrooms, solar showers, and fire pits. 

Freshwater Lagoon Spit Overnight Use Area is located one mile south of Orick, CA on Highway 101. This is an extended gravel pullout area. Vehicles must parallel park more than 30 feet from the edge of Highway 101. Overnight tent use is located south of the southern-most vehicle access point. No reservations are accepted; spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Facilities include fire pits, chemical toilets, and picnic area with grills. 

Camping is also available at nearby state parks including, Lake Earl State Park, Humboldt Lagoons State Park, and Patrick’s Point State Park (see California state parks for further information), and Smith River National Recreation Area.
