Getting to the Park:

By Car: Petrified Forest stretches between I-40 and US 180, with a 28-mile road running through the park. Visitors traveling west on I-40 should exit at milepost 311, drive through the park and connect with US 180 at the south end. Take US 180 to Holbrook to continue west on I-40. Eastbound visitors exit I-40 at Holbrook and take US 180 to the park's south entrance. Drive north through the park to return to I-40. The closest town is Holbrook, 25 miles to the west.
