Welcome to the Padre Island National Seashore Travel Planner. Here you'll find everything you need to plan your Padre Island vacation, including directions, maps, photos, lodging, camping, things to do, weather, and more.
Situated southeast of the city of Corpus Christi, Texas. Padre Island is the longest undeveloped barrier island in the world, extending 113 miles along the Texas Gulf Coast. Spanning 70 miles of the island, the 130,434-acre national seashore features white sand and shell beaches, grasslands and saltwater marshes, and an abundance of wildlife, particularly birds. Even though it draws around 800,000 visitors per year, there are abundant chances for quiet reflection and solitude along much of the long roadless Gulf beach.
If you haven't had an opportunity to visit this primitive seashore, I hope you'll enjoy a visit in the near future.
