Lodging:
There is no lodging in North Cascades National Park itself. Ross Lake National Recreation Area features the Ross Lake Resort (206-386-4437), which includes of 12 individual cabins and three bunkhouses built on log floats. It is located on the west side of Ross Lake, just north of Ross Dam. It is the only facility on the lake and is characterized by its remoteness (no direct road access). The resort is accessible via a three hour drive from Seattle to meet the passenger ferry and truck that deliver you to Ross Lake less than an hour later. All cabins are furnished and include electricity and hot and cold running water. Towels, bedding, tableware, pots and pans are provided. Visitors must bring their own food since there is no restaurant or store in the area. The resort is open from mid-June to October.
The North Cascades Stehekin Lodge (509-682-4494) is a concession-operated lodge at Stehekin Landing near the head of Lake Chelan. It can be reached via passenger ferry, floatplane or trail; there is no direct road access. The lodge include rooms, a restaurant, a snack bar, and a small store. An NPS visitor center and ranger station are located nearby. Lodge is open on a year-round basis.
A variety of B&B's, cabins, and lodge accommodations are available on private property in the Stehekin Valley within Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. Access to Stehekin is via passenger ferry or float plane from Chelan or by trail. Reservations can be made online. For information on lodging in the Park Complex call 360-856-5700.
