Welcome to the Lincoln Home National Historic Site Travel Planner. Here you'll find everything you need to plan your visit, including directions, park facts, things to do, information on historical resources, educational programs, maps, and more.

A few quick facts: Originally established as a National Historic Landmark in 1960, the site was redesignated as a National Historic Site in 1972. The centerpiece of the 12-acre site in Springfield, Illinois, is the Lincoln home, where Abraham Lincoln lived for 17 years (1844-1861) before becoming President. The home has been restored to its 1860s appearance and stands in the midst of a four block historic neighborhood, which the National Park Service is restoring to its period look. I hope you'll enjoy a visit to this historic site in the near future.
