Begin your visit to the park with a stop at the information desk located inside the visitor center. The staff will provide orientation to the park's attractions, including the Memorial Building, Sinking Spring, hiking trails, and picnic area. The park picnic area and additional hiking trails are located across US 31E and KY 61 from the visitor center. Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home at Knob Creek became a part of the park in 2001 and is located 10 miles northeast of the Birthplace on US 31E.

The film, "Lincoln: The Kentucky Years," is shown on the hour and half-hour in the Visitor Center auditorium and regularly scheduled talks are held at the Memorial Building.

The Memorial Building is a Neoclassical design and is located atop 56 steps, one for each year of Lincoln's life.  An early 19th century Kentucky cabin, symbolic of the one in which Lincoln was born, is preserved inside the memorial building at the site of his birth.

The park includes the Boundary Oak Trail, a loop trail that begins and ends at the Memorial Building and the Big Sink Trail, which is located off Keith Road.
