Jimmy Carter National Historic Site

Getting to the Park:

The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site is located 10 miles east of Americus, Georgia, on US 280. The visitor center is open daily from 9am to 5pm (except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day). The Plain Depot-1976 Presidential Headquarters, is located in the downtown area of Plains on Main Street. The Plains High School/Visitor Center is located on north Bond Street in Plains. The Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm is located 3 miles outside of the town of Plains in the community of Archery. Follow US 280 west for 0.5 mile and bear left on Old Plains Highway for 1.5 miles. The farm is on the right-hand side of the road. 

The park is located approximately 35 miles northwest of Albany, GA and 120 miles south of Atlanta, GA.
