Appalachian National Scenic Trail
This 2,158-mile footpath runs from Mount Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia, traversing 14 states. Only four miles of the AT are actually situated in West Virginia, though the Trail hugs the Virginia-West Virginia border several hundred miles farther south, near the New River.Bluestone National Scenic River
Preserves natural and historic features of the Appalachian plateau, and offers excellent warm water fishing, hiking, boating, and scenery.Gauley River National Recreation Area
